To my Cherries Family and Friends
Well its with a sad heart that I find myself sending this message to you. Our biggest show of the year The Cherries Halloween Show has to be cancelled. We have held off and deliberated for as long as we can. Sadly now due to Covid-19 uncertainty, social distancing requirements and venue restrictions in opening we have made the hard decision to cancel the show. The safety of our Cherries audience and performers will always comes first and has been paramount in our decision making. We have not taken this decision lightly. We have got to the pre show point when we would normally put tickets on sale and that is just not possible right now without taking financial risk. We have therefore taken our decision based on current information, the possibility of further lockdown restrictions being and the Venue unavailability. With all of these things imposed on us our decision has been made to cancel to ensure that the health and wellbeing of both you and us is maintained.
We sincerely apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause and look forward to greeting you, and your friends at the next show we are able to hold. We are certainly not going away and will be be back when it’s safe to do so.
During these strange times a number of our Cherries Family have asked us and mentioned the possibility of virtual or outdoor shows. Despite an outdoor show being something we would love to do we have not given it a great amount of thought nor have we looked at providing some form of virtual event that you could sign into online. We know others have and we have had some dialogue with them. We would like to take this opportunity to ask if you have some ideas for the future should our normal shows not be allowed to resume. It would be good if you could let us know if you think outdoor or virtual events are things you may wish to attend. If you like the sound of them or have ideas for alternatives let us know what you would like to see.
But for now with a tear in my eye and stealing the words of Vera Lyn …. “until we meet again” my wonderful cherries family I miss every single one of you very much!
Do not forget to let us know what you think about the alternative to normal shows and we will keep you updates as to what we are doing and how you might be able to be involved.
Chin Chin for now and stay safe you lovely lot!
